Harry Cleverdon strikes an emotional chord on his video for Hit Me While I’m Down

It was late last month, with the release of his new EP From My Side Of The Stage, that we were first introduced to the endearing and dynamic soft-rock sounds of Harry Cleverdon. The young artist, in an incredibly short amount of time, has crafted a unique brand of music that is rich in both tone and lyrical content—the kind of music you can really sink into.

The EP is a six-track collection subtle, but undeniably powerful, musical gems. And now, fresh off the EP’s release, Cleverdon has unveiled a striking new video for its penultimate track, Hit Me While I’m Down.

With an amazing new EP fresh under his belt, Harry Cleverdon has unveiled a new video for his track Hit Me While I’m Down.

Directed by Rowen Grant, the new video is visually stunning and emotionally moving. To accompany the song’s honest and heartfelt lyricism, the clip features a story that captures the importance of kindness. It begins with a young protagonist discovering that she’s not welcome at a party. From here, she’s alienated by peers, almost gets hit by a car, and proceeds to have a nice night with the one person who’s looking out for her.

But things aren’t exactly what they seem. The conclusion of the video features a slight twist, that contorts the themes of the story, placing even more emphasis on the necessity of benevolence.

This is the latest in a string of great releases from Harry Cleverdon, and we can’t wait to see/hear what he delivers next.
