Listen to Karen O and Danger Mouse’s hauntingly beautiful cover of Lou Reed’s classic 1972 track Perfect Day. It’s a game changer.

Perfect Day was first released in 1972 as part of Lou Reed’s classic album Transformer, before finding a second round of popularity when it was featured in Danny Boyle’s 1996 Trainspotting soundtrack.

Both Karen O and Danger Mouse are veterans of the music industry, with O fronting the American rock outfit Yeah Yeah Yeahs alongside her successful solo career. Danger Mouse is a songwriter, music producer and musician who has worked with big names such as Jay Z, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Gorillaz, generally just the guy you want working on your record.

The cover comes as a welcome collaboration, after the pair released their joint album, Lux Prima, in March this year. The dreamy LP is still on our minds, with its versatile soundscapes, textures and vocal tones.
