Insight 51 have just announced a new collection, Drowned In Sound, and they’ve enlisted local garage heroes RACKETT and LOS SCALLYWAGGS to help rep it.
Local garage legends RACKETT and LOS SCALLYWAGGS are teaming up with Insight 51 for a new collection of 90s-inspired threads.
The new range is inspired by crate digging, mornings spent binging on Rage, and arvos consumed with smashing out Nirvana covers in your parent’s garage.
On offer is a collection of worn-in threads to see you through winter and into spring, including Sherpa-lined corduroy styles, battered denim jackets, varsity bombers and the ‘shacket’, a hybrid shirt/jacket with bowling badges – a nod to retro Americana.
Both RACKETT and Los Scallywaggs are doing some massive things in the Aussie indie scene at the moment. And if you’re not across them yet, it’s time to jump on board.
Embroiled in the same garage/surf-punk ethos as Dune Rats or DZ Deathrays, Los Scallwaggs are pumping out visceral, thrashy tunes at a vicious rate.
With multiple nods from various members of the team at triple J already under their belt, two records out in the space of 6 months, and a solid run of tour dates coming up in August and September, the Foster/Pacific Palms trio are looking to be unstoppable in 2017.

Speaking of momentum, Sydney trio RACKETT have had a blazing start to 2017. Kicking the year off with slots at Mountain Sounds festival, Secret Garden, and Electric Lady; plus support slots alongside The Darkness, there’s a whirlwind of well-deserved buzz surrounding these purveyors of divine fuzz pop.
Their debut EP is set to drop very soon, and if singles like Bats, Prey and Ready Or Not! are anything to go by, it’s going to brilliant. Make sure you check out their video for Prey here.
