We caught up with 19-year-old Brennan Keller, known by fans as Brenn! the 19-year-old sensation to learn about his creative process, the inspiration behind ‘Valapriso,’ and his growing popularity. Despite the fame, Brenn! remains grounded, prioritising authenticity and staying true to himself.

Happy: What are you up to today?
Brenn!: Today I went to physical therapy for my ankles and then watched spongebob all day.
Happy: Tell us about where you are from?
Brenn!: I am from the great state of Alabama.
Happy: What did you listen to growing up that fuelled your passion for music?
Brenn!: Growing up, I listened to a lot of gospel and twenty-one pilots’ music.
Happy: Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your upcoming single, ‘Valapriso,’ and what the song means to you?
Brenn!: Valapriso is a song about kind of losing yourself in a harmful relationship and becoming self-aware of how much it has changed you.
Happy: Can you tell us a bit about the creative/recording process behind it?
Brenn!: Recording it was a lot of fun and it was pretty simple. We had about 4 demos before we settled on the final song. It was really fun going from finishing the song to practicing it live.
Happy: How did it feel to have your debut single, ‘4runner,’ become such a viral sensation on social media platforms like TikTok?
Brenn!: Honestly, the virality of 4runner is starting to hit me now more than ever. I got so lost in just watching the numbers while bedridden for months, I didn’t fully realize the full scope of it.
Happy: With your music garnering millions of streams and views, how do you handle the growing popularity and attention as a 19-year-old artist?
Brenn!: I try to push the attention of my music to the side because at the end of the day, I’m just Brennan, and no amount of streams or publicity will ever change that for me. I want to stay as Brennan. There are no words to describe how grateful I am that I can see the impact my music is having on people’s lives, but I want to stay as Brennan.
Happy: Can you describe the process of signing with Darkroom Records and how it has influenced your career as an artist?
Brenn!: Signing with Darkroom has been a lot of fun. I have met so many new and amazing people and they were a big helping grow what 4runner was doing.
Happy: What can fans expect from your music in the future, and how do you see your sound evolving over time?
Brenn!: I can’t give a clear answer on what my fans should expect over time. My life is always changing and moving in so many different ways that I don’t even know what to expect. However, I would love to confidently say that my fans can expect more music in the future.
Happy: If you could collaborate with any other artist, living or deceased, who would it be and why?
Brenn!: If I could collaborate with anyone, I would like to do at least 1 show with Noah Kahan before my career comes to an end. His concert was the first ever concert I went to and many people compared our music to each other. So that is my “dream collaboration”.
