Introducing the pulsating synth-pop sounds of PLOTZ

There’s something undeniably captivating about the music of PLOTZ. With a string of consistently great releases under their belts, the Melbourne based outfit have—in a relatively short amount of time—carved out an incredibly unique sound for themselves; it’s equal parts nostalgic and fresh – acknowledging music of eras past, while looking ambitiously to the future.

With the release of their latest single Not Alone, the group continue to establish their penchant for immersive, synth-driven sonic gems. If you’re not already familiar with this name, we strongly recommend you change that.

On their brilliantly immersive new single Not Alone, Melbourne-based outfit PLOTZ craft a dark and addictive synth-pop gem.

Throughout the new single, PLOTZ traverse an explosive concoction of 80’s-inspired synth-pop, new-wave, and alt-rock to deliver a sound uniquely their own. With pulsating rhythms, endearingly dark synth lines, and infectious vocal melodies, Not Alone finds a musical balance that feels simultaneously abrasive and addictive.

Across its four-minute run-time, the song explores myriad sonic territories—it never sits in one place for too long. One moment you’ll be sludging through deep, heavy grooves, and the next you’ll be immersed in euphoric pop hooks. By the time thetrack reaches its conclusion, you’ll have been roped in copmletely by the band’s soaring sounds.

“The concept of the song is almost like arguing with someone who is so down they can’t see all the people around them/helping them. It’s okay to feel disconnected from the universe, but that hiding in won’t solve your issues,” the band say of the track.

“So, I guess the message in the song is a positive reminder to anyone who feels isolation of any kind that regardless of how unique they think their disconnect is, there are others going through the same experience”

Not Alone is the latest in an ever-growing catalogue of brilliant releases from PLOTZ, and judging by the quality of everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more great tunes.

In the meantime, do yourself a favour and listen to the new single above.
