Joan & the Giants new single Hold Me is thought-provoking, reflective and inspiring

It’s rare for a song to instantly throw you into a memory, but that’s exactly what Joan & the Giants specialise in.

The Perth-based trio have just unveiled their new single Hold Me, and once again, we’ve found ourselves entranced by their indie-pop sounds.

Perth three-piece Joan & the Giants create a truly magical chamber of reflection, suspense and beauty with their latest single Hold Me.

If you’re into Daughter or Cloves, Joan & the Giants are going to be your new artist on repeat. The WA based band create spectacular spaces full of rich imagery and the freedom to float away.

Hold Me is a really special song. It grabs you by the heart and throws you into a strange place surrounded by memories in both a sad but beautiful way. This is like that real kind of sad, where even though things may be a bit shit they’re all going to be ok. No reason why – you just know.

Instantly, the guitars are captivating and the manipulation of space is exquisite. Frontwoman Grace’s voice is out of this world, and the harmonies throughout the track are divine. The way the group have used those big booming drums really sets the track aside from your usual folk type track but really gives it grounding, and punches you right in the tear ducts.

I honestly cannot wait for the follow up and EP promised for May and will be the first to buy a ticket to their Sydney show when they come around!

The trio will be embarking on a regional WA tour in April and are teasing towards a national tour in June, make sure to follow them on their Facebook page for details about upcoming shows!
