Johnny Depp’s $301 million return to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’

Johnny Depp’s team has responded to claims that the actor may be returning to Pirates of the Caribbean.

Soon after Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard, rumours have circulated that the actor will be returning to his most iconic role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Carribbean.

A report surfaced on June 27 showing that the actor was back on the franchise with a $301 million deal.

A source told PopTopic that “Disney is very interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp. They reached out to the actor prior to his defamation trial against Amber Heard and asked whether he would be interested in returning for another Pirates film or two.”

“I know corporate sent him a gift basket with a very heartfelt letter, but I’m unsure how it was received. But what I can tell you is that the studio has already penned up a draft for a film about Jack Sparrow — so they are very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character,”

Before you get your swords and eye patches ready with excitement, one of Johnny’s representatives told NBC News, “this is made up”.

Through the Depp/ Heard defamation trial, Johnny made it clear that he would not be returning to the Disney franchise.

When Amber’s attorney Ben Rottenborn asked Johnny “If Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film? Correct?”

The actor replied, “That is true, Mr. Rottenborn.”

It looks like for now, Johnny Depp may just be focussing on his band Hollywood Vampires with band mates Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen as they tour the world over the next year.
