Kae Tempest releases ‘Nice Idea’ in support of Record Store Day

Kae Tempest, the acclaimed British artist known for their unique blend of poetry, music, and performance, has kicked off 2023 with the release of a 4-track EP entitled “Nice Idea.”

Kae Tempest has just gifted us with a new 4-track EP called ‘Nice Idea’, set to drop on Record Store Day. Produced by Dan Carey, the EP was recorded over a swift 5-day period during a rare break in Kae’s hectic 2022 tour schedule.

The title track, ‘Nice Idea’, has already been released alongside an accompanying video shot in the duo’s native South East London, created by longtime friend Kwake Bass.

When asked about the track, Kae shared, “This is a song about wanting to stay in bed all day with the person you’re in love with. Imagine you could just shut the whole world out and enjoy each other. Nice idea.”

2023 is set to be another enormous year for Kae Tempest, with the release of their new poetry collection, ‘Divisible by Itself and One’, published by Picador on April 27th. They’ll also be embarking on a sold-out Australian tour starting in February, including a performance at the iconic Sydney Opera House. 

With four studio albums, a novel, their first work of non-fiction (‘On Connection’), three plays, and five collections of poetry already under their belt, Kae Tempest has firmly established themselves as one of the most intriguing, thought-provoking, and critically acclaimed artists of our time.
