Kanye West banned premarital sex during the recording of Jesus Is King

If there’s one thing about Kanye West that we should all know by now, it’s that he doesn’t do anything half-arsed. Kanye goes full steam ahead with everything he does, and his new gospel music endeavours are no different. He wants to spread the word of the gospel, and he wants to spread it fast.

In a recent Beats 1 interview with Zane Lowe, Kanye revealed that during the recording and production of his forthcoming album Jesus Is Kinghe asked his collaborators not to engage in premarital sex while working on the album. A good ol’ fashioned 180 from the Kanye who directed the inaugural Pornhub Awards just over a year ago.

Kanye West has revealed that he banned premarital sex during the making of Jesus Is King, and teased a new album Jesus Is Born, due out on Christmas day.

“There were times where I was asking people not to have premarital sex while they were working on the album,” West told Lowe. “There were times where I went to people that were working on other projects and said can you just work and focus on this? I thought if we could all focus and fast… Families who pray together stay together.”

During the interview, West also revealed that a “Sunday Service album, Jesus Is Born, on Christmas is coming.” He didn’t give any more information on the contents of the album, so we’re left to speculate whether it’ll be a studio album of new material, or a live album of material from his various live Sunday Service performances.

After its original release date of the 27th of September was postponed, Kanye’s new long-awaited ninth studio album Jesus Is King is finally set to be released at some point today (Friday the 25th of October).
