Kanye West is looking to turn a green thumb to his wildly successful Yeezy collection. Through a feature article with Forbes, the artist discussed plans to develop a line of biodegradable sneakers.
With environmentalism being the hot topic on everyone’s lips, this idea will no doubt add fuel to the fire that is Kanye’s sneaker empire.
Sneaker kingpin Kanye West has big ideas to develop a more eco-friendly type of shoe, one that won’t stick around long after it’s out of fashion.
By using a species of algae as material, the shoes will completely breakdown over time. What’s more, the algae breaks down almost immediately when it comes in contact with a certain type of bacteria. Which, when you think about it, is really gonna make way for some horrendously hilarious pranks.
One of the main factors contributing to Yeezy’s success is Kanye’s focus on prestige and quality of the product, rather than the number of sales. With Kanye’s current business approach and a collective focus on the well being of our environment, hopefully, this opens the door to more eco-friendly products from our sneaker kingpins.
Unfortunately, there have been no set dates for the drop. But now that the cat’s out of the bag, it’s hard to believe Yeezy will wait all too long to deliver on the goods.
