Kendrick Lamar and frequent collaborator, Dave Free, have announced the launch of a new project. No, not a new album, but rather a new media company.
Lamar unveiled the news with three Instagram posts this week, linking fans to a website. Named, pgLang, the project appears to be a platform circulating various types of media forms, focussing on “projects that selflessly speak with, and for, the shared experiences that connect us all.”
Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free have launched a new company, pgLang, a service to “projects that speak for the shared experiences that connect us all.”
In a statement, Dave Free added that; “In this overstimulated time, we are focussed on cultivating raw expression from grassroots partnerships.”
“This is happening now because the media landscape is rapidly changing, empowering audiences with choices like never before. Only a few contemporary creators have figured out how to speak the evolving language of this generation without fading into the white noise or pre-assigned market share. pgLang is designed to be artist-friendly above all else and embrace both quality and unconventional concepts.”
The website includes a visual mission statement, directed by Dave Free, and features appearances from Baby Keem, Jorja Smith and Kendrick himself. Florence Welch and Kamasi Washington also make contributions in the video’s ending music.
