Kickstarter launch collaboration aimed at making it easier for music creators to crowd-fund vinyl

If you’ve got a music project that you want to crowd-fund and are looking to incorporate vinyl into the campaign but aren’t sure how to go about it, then this is for you.

Kickstarter have just launched a new collaboration with Qrates“an award-winning, one-stop service for creating and releasing vinyl records” – in an initiative aimed at making it easier for music creators to offer vinyl as rewards in their crowdfunding campaigns.

MAKE vinyl

MAKE Vinyl is a collab between Kickstarter and Qrates aimed at making it easier for music creators to fund, press and promote vinyl releases.

The initiative is called MAKE Vinyl, and it “helps music creators access more tools and resources to successfully fulfil their projects and develop their careers.”

From the Kickstarter blog:

“Through MAKE Vinyl musicians enjoy support from the Qrates team, which has expertise in budgeting, designing, pressing, fulfilling, and distributing vinyl records. The Kickstarter Music team will help set up your projects for success with pre- and post-launch tips and if needed, feedback on your projects before they’re live.”

Basically, what you have to do is draft a music project on Kickstarter where at least one of your rewards is a vinyl record between June 5 and August 1, 2017.

Any project with vinyl as a reward will be promoted by Kickstarter, and will be mentored throughout the entire process.

To top it off, projects that are a MAKE Vinyl campaign can use a special promo code for a 5% discount from Qrates to be used towards pressing and fulfilling the vinyl element of the project.
