Kid Cudi stormed off stage after fans threw water bottles at him

Kid Cudi cut his headline spot short at Rolling Loud Festival when the crowd turned on him while he performed his fourth song.

Days after Kanye West pulled out as headliner at the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami, Kid Cudi took to the stage as his replacement but cut his set short after multiple bottles of water were thrown at him from the crowd.

Cudi was playing REVOFEV when a bottle was thrown at him from the crowd and hit him square in the face.

“Yo, I will walk off this stage if you all throw one more fucking thing up here, I will leave, I will leave right now,” Cudi told the audience after he was hit.

“Throw one more fucking thing on this stage and I’ll walk off, I’m not fucking playing. I’m not fucking playing, you will ruin it for everybody. I’ll fucking leave If I get hit with one more fucking thing, if I see one more fucking thing on this fucking stage, I’m leaving. Don’t fuck with me.”

Almost immediately after, another water bottle was thrown at Cudi and he walked off the stage.

The festival organisers released a statement on Saturday afternoon, saying: “Rolling Loud is a family. Our fans, the artists, and everyone involved need to look out for each other. Share the love and be respectful to everyone. We love you, Cudi. Please take care of each other and let’s have an amazing day 2!”

At this stage, we’re not exactly sure why the crowd was so pissed off. It may have been Kanye fans disappointed in the last-minute headline change.

Only four days before Rolling Loud kicked off, the co-founders Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler issued the following statement: “We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing. This is the first time a headliner has ever pulled off our show and though we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best. We look forward to welcoming Kid Cudi as a headliner in Miami and we can’t wait to see what he has in store.”

Even though Ye had pulled out of the show, he appeared during Lil Durk’s set that evening where there two performed Hot Shit, the new Cardi B track that they both feature on.
