Rey says she lost two years’ worth of videos. In particular, family footage that meant a lot to her. She also lost a 200-page manuscript for her upcoming second poetry book, Behind the Iron Gates – Insights from an Institution for publisher Simon & Schuster, which she must now start over because it was not backed up.

Despite remotely erasing the laptop, she’s now this week noticed new songs of her’s leaking: “People are still able this week to remotely access my phone and leak our songs and personal photos.” She continued, “please don’t listen to the music if you hear it because it’s not coming out yet. And in terms of the book, I loved the book that I lost with all of my heart and put a lot of passion into it. And in terms of the camcorders, we shall see what happens with that.”

Rey goes on to share, that it has been a challenge and a bit of a roadblock in terms of the creative process. She has learned a hard lesson, and won’t be leaving anything in the car ever again, not even for a moment. The singer also shares this has been an ongoing problem, as it’s the third time she has experienced not only theft from her car but her house.
