Live Nation, the world’s most prominent live entertainment company, has announced today its biggest Ones To Watch (OTW) showcase for 2022, parallel to BIGSOUND, taking place in Brisbane this September, 6th – 9th.
The showcase will take place at The Outpost in Fortitude Valley today, Wednesday 7th September, from 5pm – 8pm and will present a range of performances from an incredibly talented selection of artists including Kanda The Loop, Carla Wehbe, Forest Claudette, and Selfish Sons. These performances are part of a continuing live event series produced through the OTW showcase, devised to supply emerging artists with opportunities to connect with local music enthusiasts and perform in front of significant industry professionals.
The OTW online global artist discovery platform is the go-to place for local music fans to explore and find new favourite artists. The platform displays up-and-coming talent within Australia, including musicians, bands and producers who are provided with professional support to help give them a leg up in their careers by leveraging Live Nation’s global network.
The OTW program has had a huge impact in developing the careers of local Australian talent, progressing Aussie artists such as Colourblind, East AV3, Teenage Joans, Hoodzy, Saint Lane, and WIIGZ.
Kanada The Loop
Tastemakers and music fans alike have been talking a lot about Kanada The Loop. Surfacing in 2021 with a fusion of subculture sounds and aesthetics that instantly gained attention, the South Australian artist utilized this momentum to his advantage; keeping the buzz going on his debut release ZOOM IN by releasing his Y U NO LIKE ME not too long after his first.
Wehbe has an attractive, unconventional uniqueness of creative flow that oozes influence from Bowie and Mercury. Wehbe’s upcoming EP introduces us to that vision with the powerhouse dazzling lead single, Is Forever Off The Table. It’s navigated by an arcing, cruisy melody and the incredible force of Wehbe’s pipes.
As a Melbourne-based songwriter and musician, Forest Claudette brings a breath of fresh air through his sound that slides through his distinct loves for R&B and pop as he often experiments on the two genres. Inspiration from Frank Ocean to Tyler, The Creator and Phoenix, Claudette’s own sonic journey developed from his love of ‘00s hip hop and the rampant wave of indie music that became a prominent sound in pop culture during that time.
This three-piece alternative rock band draws from rock music that has a pop colour to it. Selfish Sons are known for their charasmatic performances and addictive, energetic live shows. Their debut EP, Sixfour launched in 2019 gained over 1 million streams, and the band has been cruising through a multitude of tours.
For the first time since 2019, BIGSOUND is returning to be the southern hemisphere’s biggest music industry gathering where high-spirited music lovers and some of the world’s most influential acts come to explore what’s in store for the future of music. It takes place over three thrilling and fun-packed nights in Brisbane every September, with 150 artists ready to kickstart the next level of their careers.
Within an extensive multitude of talented artists making their way to the festival this year, Live Nation are excited to shine a light on some of the astounding emerging talents Australia has produced, with the Ones To Watch showcase, kicking off at 5pm today!
