Lorde is releasing new music under ‘Solar power’ and it’s about time

After months of anticipation, singer Lorde has put fans in a frenzy with the announcement of Solar Power.

An update on Lorde’s official website showed the cover art for Solar Power. It has not yet been confirmed whether Solar Power will be a single or the name of her upcoming album.

The caption reads, “Arriving in 2021… Patience is a virtue,” a cheeky nod to eager fans.

Her last album, the universally acclaimed Melodrama, was released four years ago, so naturally, fans are going wild.

The website post also featured a link to sign up for Lorde’s mailing list, where fans can get newsletters detailing the latest updates on her music.

Lorde told fans last year that she had recorded new music with producer Jack Antonoff who also worked on Melodrama.

On May 25, it was announced the singer would be performing at Primavera Sound in 2022, sending fans into more of a buzz.

Lorde is THE twenty-four-year-old singer-songwriter from New Zealand, whose 2013 debut studio album, Pure Heroine, featured the smash out single, Royals, launching her into worldwide fame at sixteen years old.

Her second studio album, Melodrama was also universally praised for her distinctive singing voice, unconventional production, and introspective songwriting – which resonated with fans worldwide, and made many label her as the voice of a generation.

As the voice of the generation, however, her fanbase is also notorious for making some of the most cooked content that Twitter has encountered.
