If you think maybe your band is missing a touch of something, throw another drum kit in. Because looooord, it is working for the Melbourne lads Money For Rope. Who said one was enough anyway? These guys have become somewhat notorious for an amazing live show that is almost guaranteed to get everybody doing a whole lot of moving and shaking to their surf/soul 60’s inspired rock and roll.
Although they won triple j’s Push Over festival slot in 2012, these guys seem to have gone a little unnoticed on the Australian radar of recent days. In saying that, their track record is pretty impressive with support slots for the like of The Vasco Era, The Mess Hall, Wolf & Cub and Fearless Vampire Killers. Not only that, but have crossed “main stage Splendor set” off the old bucket list too.
After previous 7” 2 track records, MFR released their self-titled 9 track album in 2012. They then thankfully returned in 2013 with the single Nova Pilota which is said to be a taste of their upcoming second album leaving many eager ears tingling with excitement.
There is sure to be an Australian tour for the release, but in the mean time you can catch them, oh you know, in Spain or the UK. Show casing at some event called South By Southwest. No worries guys.
