Moonshine Effect’s new album Our Eyes Should Meet is a sprawling, surreal dream

Since forming in 2015, Athens-based outfit Moonshine Effect have carved out a unique space for themselves in the world of psychedelia. Their music is at once familiar and experimental; the closer you listen, the more you understand that this music is unlike anything else you’ve heard before.

With the release of their latest album Our Eyes Should Meet, the band have further expanded their sound into something completely new. If you haven’t already heard this band, it’s definitely time you changed that.

Athens-based band Moonshine Effect have unveiled their new album Our Eyes Should Meet; a psychedelic masterpiece three years in the making.

Throughout the new album, Moonshine Effect glide through a concoction of psych-rock, dream-pop, and proto-punk to deliver a sound uniquely their own. With immersive, airy vocals and rich, ethereal instrumentation, Our Eyes Should Meet will seep into your bones and stay there for weeks.

Across its eight-track duration, the album pulls in myriad directions – it never sits in one place for too long, and that is perhaps its most captivating quality. The result is one of the most dynamic listening experiences we’ve come across in some time. Our Eyes Should Meet plays out like some sprawling, surreal dream. Though this time, you’ll never want to wake up.

This is the first album we’ve received from Moonshine Effect, but judging by its quality, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes.

For now, do yourself a favour and listen to the new album above.
