Neighbours returns to TV months after being axed

Iconic Aussie TV series, Neighbours is set to make a comeback in 2023, mere months after the ‘final’ episode aired.

Wipe those tears – Neighbours is coming BACK, baby! Earlier this year, fans of Australia’s longest-running soap were devastated to discover that Neighbours would be disappearing from TV screens, due to funding cuts by UK’s Channel 5.

However, the mourning period can now subside. On Thursday (November 17), the official Neighbours Twitter account posted the following: Breaking News from Erinsborough! Neighbours will return for a brand-new series next year, exclusively on @AmazonFreevee, alongside thousands of episodes from previous seasons to stream as you please.”

So, there you have it – no need to bid farewell to Ramsay Street and all its beloved characters, as a revitalised series is on the horizon. Next year, Neighbours will air in Australia on Channel 10. Meanwhile, for US and UK fans, it will be available to stream for free via Amazon Freevee. As stated by Lauren Anderson from Amazon Studios, “Neighbours has captivated its audience for nearly 40 years, building a dedicated and loyal following for the lives and stories of the characters on Ramsay Street.”

Anderson continues, “With the power of streaming, we’re able to offer a catalogue of thousands of Neighbours episodes for new audiences to discover this legendary series and current fans to relive their favorite moments. We look forward to immersing the audience in new Ramsay Street experiences when we relaunch the show next year for Amazon Freevee and Prime Video customers.”
