Netflix announce new TV hip-hop competition Rhythm + Flow

Netflix has just unveiled a trailer for new hip-hop series Rhythm + Flow.

The music competition series will search for the next big sensation with the help of hip-hop legends Cardi B, T.I. and Chance the Rapper.

Cardi B, Chance the Rapper and T.I. will be featured on Rhythm + Flow as judges on the lookout for someone who is ready to make a mark on the world’s hip-hop scene.

After announcing the music competition in 2018, Netflix unveiled the first teaser for the series during Cardi B’s set at the Made in America Festival.

The show has also has been labelled as the “hip-hop’s first legit TV competition” and an unprecedented event which is “about to make music history.”

The three-week, 10-episode series will arrive on the streaming service on October 9th, when Rhythm + Flow‘s first four episodes premiere on Netflix.

The first four episodes will feature auditions in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Atlanta. The following week’s three episodes, on October 16th, will focus on cyphers, rap battles and music videos, with the October 23rd’s final three episodes covering samples, collaborations and the finale to declare a winner.

Rhythm + Flow will be Netflix’s first venture into the TV talent show terrain, with many noting that the streaming service is aiming to rival the likes of X FactorThe Voice and American Idol. Music fans can also expect a range of new Netflix documentaries.

Before finding fame as a rapper, Cardi B starred in reality show Love & Hip Hop: New York, while T.I has launched his own range of MTV reality shows. Meanwhile, Chance The Rapper has been busy in recent years, releasing constant new music, guest-hosting Saturday Night Live and dabbling in the world of feature films.
