Summertime partying with Nia Archives can’t come soon enough.
Nia Archives has announced her world tour dates, and she’ll be stopping by Australia in January 2027.
The tour comes off the back of Archives’ second album, Emotional Junglist, released in July this year, featuring Jorja Smith and Sampha. The bold, experimental album has received rave reviews for its sound, rooted in jungle and emotional lyricism.
The Leeds DJ and producer said she is “buzzing to be bringing the live show to a city near you” via her announcement post on Instagram. The ‘emotional world tour’ kicks off September 9 in Osaka, followed by dates in North America and Europe, before finishing up at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on January 7.
First up in Australia, though, Nia Archives will be bringing the heat to Barunah Plains’ iconic ‘Beyond the Valley’ festival, which sold out entirely during the presale frenzy.
Campers will undoubtedly flock to The Valley Stage on December 29 for Archives’ ‘post-rave, feminine jungle experience’.
Emotional Junglist was shortlisted as one of the ‘12 albums of the year’ for the Mercury Prize, set to be awarded on Thursday, October 22.
It’s truly a masterful genre blend, and even if you’re not a raver or club frequenter, there’s bound to be a track on there that gets you moving.
Nia Archives is not just a force to be reckoned with on the stage. She also advocates passionately for diversity and opportunity in the music industry.
She campaigned for MOBO (Music of Black Origin) to introduce an electronic and dance category in 2022, as well as founding her own record label, ‘Up Ya Archives’, which focuses on providing a platform for new-gen jungle artists.
The ‘emotional world tour’ presale will go on sale next Wednesday, September 3, at 10am AEST, and general sale will begin on Thursday, September 4, at 10am AEST.
