Phil and Tilley

Folk kings Phil & Tilley’s fourth studio release Time Won’t Wait is a masterpiece of visceral acoustic storytelling.

If I Had is a highlight, a rousing acoustic ballad with some haunting lyrical finesse: “Would you hold my hand, or be another walk-away.” The EP’s lead track, New Day, is a similar testament to the pair’s creativity. Floating harmonies and fluttering guitar tones show off an exciting new direction for the duo.

Phil & Tilley joined forces back in 2008, and their music has seen them travel across the UK, Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium, and South East Asia. The self-taught singer-songwriters started experimenting with ambient sounds in 2012 while writing in the surrounds of the ancient New Forest.

After arriving in Byron Bay In 2016, Phil & Tilley quickly gained a following across the country by busking until they established themselves as ones to watch.

Two years later they are now playing over 250 gigs a year throughout Australia, gaining a rapidly increasing fan base. Currently they’re gearing up to take their new music across the country, so keep your eyes peeled for some new shows in the pipeline.
