French duo Polo & Pan have broken the news that their new album Cyclorama will be coming our way on June 25th.
If you thought Polo & Pan seemed to be warming themselves up to something lately, your instincts were bang on. The boppy French duo have just revealed their new album Cyclorama is coming out this June, and it will host four of the band’s recent jams.
Ani Kuni, Feel Good, Peter Pan, and Attrape-rêve – the latter three being songs that appeared on Polo & Pan’s 2020 EP also titled Feel Good – will be sitting pretty amongst the 14-track Cyclorama, which also features guest spots from Channel Tres and Antonin.
In a press release, Polo & Pan shared:
“Dear fans and friends, we are so proud to announce our new album is about to drop. Cyclorama, our second LP, is a musical odyssey through the steps of human existence from birth to adulthood to death… and transcendence! After our first journey in space with ‘Caravelle,’ we can’t wait to take you on a hedonistic excursion through time with ‘Cyclorama.’ Departure scheduled June 25th.”
Polo & Pan emerged in a big way with their 2017 album Caravelle, a high-spirited record ripe with quaint, danceable hits. Undoubtably European in their sound and presentation, the duo have been belting out gem after gem since, always brimming with a sunny charm.
Although, an album has been off the cards since 2017 – or 2018, if you count a deluxe edition of Caravelle that was released internationally. 2021 will see the pair return with renewed bombast, continuing to combine classical European melodic phrases with well-placed beats and cool, collected vocals. If the most recent single Ani Kuni is anything to go by, we’re in for a treat indeed.
Fans shouldn’t be too surprised to see consistent Polo & Pan collaborator and fellow Frenchman Antonin on the tracklist, contributing vocals to Cyclorama album closer Peter Pan – a throwback to the former artistic nom de plume of one half of Polo & Pan, the other being Polocorp.
Peter Pan of course featured on the Feel Good EP, and elsewhere Antonin’s single Ca fait du bien was remixed by Polo & Pan shortly after its 2017 release.
Channel Tres is an exciting addition to the Polo & Pan universe, and apparently everyone’s number one choice for a feature artist right now. The Compton rapper and producer has recently graced releases of everybody from Disclosure to SG Lewis and just last week, Australia’s Flight Facilities. The Controller is sure to bring a bullseye to Cyclodrama.
Whatever voyages of the mind and body Polo & Pan have written into Cyclorama, we’ll be there when it hits the world, ready to join the party.
