The memoir of the late L7 bassist Jennifer Finch will be available next year.
Shooting Up and Making Out: A Memoir of My Life in LA and L7 (Penguin) will be yours in January 2027.
It’s a memoir from, of course, the late Jennifer Finch, and co-writer Jeff Alulis, that had been completed before she passed away in July.
Finch passed at 59 following a battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer.
As one of alt-punk’s most visionary and relentless voices, Finch’s words are yet another gift to her fans.
The memoir will cover Finch’s teenage years in the punk scene of LA, along with her struggles with drug addiction.
It will walk us through her life in bands, from L7 to Courtney Love’s Sugar Babydoll.
The memoir is Finch’s last major project, which she and Alulis worked on together for two years, until it formed exactly what she wanted to put out into the world.

Whilst it is tragic that she will never get to see it published and in the hands of her fans, her legacy will be solidified forever.
Shooting Up and Making Out will undeniably carry on the rock-solid legacy Finch built in her outstanding life and career, whilst offering a new look behind the curtain.
