The Tassie based rockers of Chase City are local favourites through and through, but there’s a distinct feeling these fellas will be national heroes soon enough.
Their latest single A-N-X-T just goes to show their prowess. Catchy, brimming with attitude and bringing a delicious punk vibe into the mix, it’s just what the doctor ordered.
Today we witness the clip to go with the track, a scratchy take on the garage-laden jam that distinctly captures its brutal energy. Check it out above.
Herculean noise, hardcore sensibilities and utter hysteria: Chase City push their punk side to the forefront in their new clip A-N-X-T.
A-N-X-T was recorded, mixed and produced by the legendary Magoo (Midnight Oil, Regurgitator) and mastered by Jake Long of Hobart’s Red Planet Recording. The mix is as tight as it gets, squeezing a ton of brawn into three minutes with startling efficiency.
The clip sees Chase City in their element, tearing a stage into pieces as a unit. A grungey, ragged aesthetic captures the fuzziness of the track perfectly, instilling a healthy does of much appreciated chaos into the whole project.
Shots of the crowd display their obvious euphoria and it’s hardly a surprise; given the mind-rending instrumentation of this cut combined with some lyrics you wanna scream out every time the chorus comes around, I’d say the audience are well within their rights to absolutely lose it.
Catch Chase City around town this month and next for a select few shows up the east coast. They’ve also locked off their first ever European tour, so stay tuned for those dates!
