PREMIERE: FLOSSY’s new single Holiday is bursting at the seams with reckless energy

It was last April, with the release of their debut self-titled EP, that we were first introduced to anthemic grunge sounds of Perth-based four-piece FLOSSY. Since then, the band have gigged all around the country, carving out a unique place for them in the Australian rock music scene.

In the months since we were last treated to music from FLOSSY, they’ve refined their sound into something truly memorable. Which is why we’re stoked to be premiering their new single Holiday for you today.

On their latest single Holiday, Perth-based four-piece FLOSSY deliver a blistering call-to-arms against the mundane. This is a band you’re going to want to keep an eye on.

The new single sees the quartet – made up of Lauren and Sinead O’Hara, Tom Wilson, and Steve D’Angelo – stomp through their signature blend of alt-rock, grunge and pop. With crunching guitars, bone-rattling percussion, and flailing vocal hooks, this new single will both smack you in the face and get stuck in your head for weeks.

Holiday is about “coming to terms with the reality of your mundane life, only to fuck it all off and jump in a convertible with your best mate,” the band say. With increasingly vitriolic vocal delivery and searing instrumentation, this charmingly reckless attitude is captured perfectly.

We’ve been saying for a while now that FLOSSY are a band to watch, and this new single only makes us feel more confident. Here’s hoping we won’t have to wait long to hear what they deliver next.

For now, do yourself a favour and listen to the new single above.
