We can’t get enough of Nick Cave, not even after 16 albums. Luckily for us, it sounds like we’ll have a new one soon! Last weekend at a Conversations with Nick Cave event in Melbourne, Cave gave us the news we’ve all been waiting for.
“We’ve really nearly finished a new record, I would say. And it’s an amazing thing in my opinion. I’m very, very excited about it,” the veteran songwriter told.
After almost two years, Nick Cave has shared the exciting news that a brand new Bad Seeds record is almost finished.
While it’s going to be difficult to follow Skeleton Tree, particularly given the context surrounding the record, we have high hopes. The fact that Cave is so “very very excited” about it before it’s even finished can only be a good sign! Cave’s wife shared on her blog that the songs are Cave’s “Fever songs,” after a bout of autumn flu brought them his way in vivid fever dreams.
After the tragic news of pianist Conway Savage’s passing last year it’s likely to be a record with bittersweet emotions on release day, but we admire Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ resilience despite all the curve balls life seems to throw them. It seems nothing is keeping these soldiers down, and we can’t wait to hear what they’re sharing with us next.
