PREMIERE: Jake Stone is a captivating presence on You’d Be

It was last year, with the release of his track Fighting On Your Own, that we were first introduced to the anthemic indie-pop sounds of Melbourne artist Jake Stone. Since then, he’s continued to refine his sounds into something truly spell-binding. Listening to his music it’s pretty difficult to believe he’s only 16-years-old.

Now, with the release of his new single, You’d Be, Stone continues to build himself as one of the most exciting emerging artists in Aussie music. If you’re not already familiar with this name, it’s certainly time you changed that.

On his incredible new single, You’d Be, Melbourne-based artist Jake Stone presents a cinematic slice of indie-pop brilliance.

Throughout the new single, Jake Stone glides through an all-consuming blend of indie-pop and electronica to craft a sound uniquely his own. With soaring vocal hooks and seemingly-flawless production, Stone has crafted a track that feels simultaneously familiar and fresh.

Over the course of the track’s near-four-minute duration, Stone pushes and pulls you in myriad directions. The track never sits in one place for too long, and this is perhaps its most endearing quality.

These are still early days for this young artist, but judging by the quality of everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes.

For now, do yourself a favour and listen to the new track above.
