Melbourne artist Jim Alxndr has spent the past couple of years carving out an incredibly unique sound for himself. Mixing dynamic electronic production with live instrumentation, his music is original and completely spell-binding.

On his new single Together, Melbourne-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Jim Alxndr presents a lush and seeping slice of hallucinatory electronica.
Throughout the new single, Jim Alxndr glides through a hallucinatory blend of sounds to craft something completely unique. With lush, sweeping arrangements and seemingly flawless production, Together feels equal parts grounded and far-reaching. Alxndr’s genre-bending innovation always has roots in earthy instrumental tones.
Across the track’s three-and-a-half minute duration, he pulls in myriad directions – never sitting in one place for too long. This perhaps his most endearing quality. One moment you’ll be floating through tranquil electronica, and the next you’ll be possessed by groove-laden instrumental hooks.
“Playing real instruments is like embedding your DNA in the music,” Alxndr says.
“I use the fact that I’m able to play a variety of instruments to my advantage in the sense that it allows me to make the music that sounds the most like me.”
These are still relatively early days for this Melbourne artist, but judging by everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes from Jim Alxndr.
