PREMIERE: Mitchell Martin’s new single Dim The Lights will blow you away

At just 22 years old, Mitchell Martin has some serious chops. And his latest single, Dim the Lights, absolutely proves it.

The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts student has come blazing onto the scene. The young musician cut his teeth among some of Australia’s best, having already supported British India and Killing Heidi, and played a bunch of headline gigs around Western Australia.

Mitchell Martin has exploded onto the music scene, and his latest single Dim the Lights proves that he is here to stay.

Right from the get-go, Dim the Lights punches its way into your attention. Utilising plenty of classic rock themes, the track demands to be heard, and proves that rock is far from dead. With an unforgettable melody, and expert storytelling, Dim the Lights is a deceptively mature track from such a young artist.

Breaking into a blistering guitar solo, Martin further proves his skills despite his age. Reminiscent of early 00s Australian rock, Dim the Lights feels nostalgic in the best way possible.

These are still early days for Mitchell Martin, but judging by the quality of what we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more great tunes.

You can give the track a listen below:

Mitchell be launching the new single at The Sewing Room in Perth on Thursday, May 30th. More info here.
