Earlier this month we premiered the debut single from Melbourne-based outfit Pacing The Cage, and oh my, it was an all-out assault of crunching guitars and wailing vocals.
It was brilliant. As soon as we heard it, we couldn’t wait to hear more… and now we don’t have to wait any longer, because the band have just dropped their debut full-length album INTOX.
An unapologetic barrage of vitriolic sounds; Melbourne outfit Pacing The Cage’s debut album is everything we hoped it would be and more.
Incredibly well produced, the new album sees the band expand their sound, as they navigate characteristics of progressive rock and psych to craft a sound that’ll smack you right in the face.
On the album, Pacing The Cage achieve something very few bands can do in this modern age of ours, and that’s sustain your attention from start to finish.
Album opener – and lead single – Thrill Pill is an unapologetic barrage of vitriolic sounds, while Tornado is a slightly more measured blistering rock track.
Tell Them It’s War Master is the albums most considered, thumping song, showcasing the groups versatility.
By the time the album’s punchy closer Bent (Aeroplane) reaches its conclusion, you’ll feel physically exhausted. These eleven songs afford you no breathing room… but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Do yourself a favour and listen to INTOX above.
