PREMIERE: Rubbish Blokes unveil their blistering debut single Sick

After five years of wreaking havoc under the name Latham’s Grip, South Coast five-piece Däs Blöke, Leland Foster, Kai Whitaker, Matt Brkic, and Sam Bowker have decided it’s time for a change. Now operating under the guise Rubbish Blokes, the group belt out a hard-hitting and heartfelt brand of indie-punk that will slap you across the head.

Today, the band have shared their debut single Sick, and it should go without saying that we’re stoked to be premiering it for you today.

They may be rubbish blokes, but they’re certainly not a rubbish band. Today, the South Coast five-piece have unveiled their blistering debut single Sick.

Throughout the new track, Rubbish Blokes stomp through a concoction of crunching guitars, bone-rattling percussion, and flailing, emotive vocal hooks. It’s a blend of blistering noises that will quickly nest itself in the depths of your body.

Driven by themes of failed relationships and confronting insecurities, Sick doesn’t beat around the bush. The track doesn’t shy away from its messages, but confronts them. The result is a truly endearing listening experience. I can’t comment on the quality of the band’s character… but I can comment on the quality of their music. Rubbish Blokes are most certainly not a rubbish band.

While these are still technically early days for this South Coast five-piece, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality material from Rubbish Blokes.

For now, do yourself a favour and listen to the new single above.
