PREMIERE: The Dardi Shades embrace spring with open arms on Tuesday’s My Weekend

Out of Camden NSW, The Dardi Shades already have some pretty impressive tours runs on the board. With support slots including Bec Sandridge, Hey Geronimo, Castlecomer and Betty and Oswald, this indie pop quintet is proving that they have what it takes to fill a room.

Most notably The Dardi Shades were fortunate enough to have toured with legends The Rubens on their last round of shows across Australia. And their latest single Tuesday’s My Weekend reflects these experiences: a song with enough energy and groove to get you off your seat and into the middle of the dance floor.

Bright hooks and gritty garage undertones, Tuesday’s My Weekend from The Dardi Shades is one cracker of a summer anthem, just in time for spring.

Filled with bright hooks and a gritty garage undertones, The Dardi Shades are getting better and better with every release. Tuesday’s My Weekend is their second single and was recorded alongside Will Zeglis of The Rubens in his own backyard studio called The Bunker.

While the track may have grassroots beginnings, it is crisp and clearly articulated, with energy in spades and a seriously captivating mix of sounds. At first you are drawn to British indie vibes of The Libertines, but then smooth surf rock undertones come swelling in and you’re turned upside down.

The band have professed that they’re releasing the song just in time for summer, and they could not be more accurate. It’s bright aesthetic and high voltage tone makes for one cracker of an anthem, one which we cannot wait to put on the playlist for the BBQs ahead.

The Dardi Shades are one of those bands, who like those they have performed alongside, are capable of creating bold, fun and honest music, and Tuesday’s My Weekend is just this.
