PREMIERE: The Dissolutes capture the uncertainty of young love in new clip Summer

Sydney four-piece The Dissolutes have unveiled their latest clip, a tale of young romance set to a track named Summer.

With two clips to their name already, Summer stands as their first which doesn’t star the band. Instead it follows a young man and woman as they navigate the early days, honeymoon period, and rocky moments of a blooming relationship.

It’s a purposeful track on its own, only enhanced by the clip’s all-to-real narrative.

The Dissolutes capture the uncertainty of young love effortlessly on Summer, a cinematic new film clip set to one of their most moving tracks.

We watch as the two characters meet on a date, fall for each other, learn one another’s secrets, and eventually separate. Without a word of dialogue, The Dissolutes tell a story we can all recognise.

As a twist to the classic ‘boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl’  dynamic, the clip ends with its audience in the dark, unsure as to whether the lovers will ever, in fact, make it.

Summer comes from The Dissolutes’ EP Out Of The Blue, released in October 2017. The EP was recorded with Dan Shaw and Cefe Flynn of Enmore Audio, Happy’s own go-to recording studio.

If you want to catch The Dissolutes live, they’re playing ShoreShocked 2018 alongside Jack River, Mallrat and more. The free festival takes place on March 21st at St. Leonards Park, grab the details here.
