Queensland Music Awards have opened their nomination floodgates!

The 2022 Queensland Music Award nominations are now open and accepting applications – it’s time to get your music heard!

The 2022 Queensland Music Award (QMA) nominations have created a space where you can nominate your song and/or music video. So if you’re dying for the world to hear your music, this could be your chance!

Songwriting and production is a very personal experience. Artists spend countless hours writing and recording work that they believe represents their true musicianship.

For this very reason, QMA enlists over 100 top Australian music industry professionals to judge and curate each and every submission.

Similarly, filmmaking is an equal method of expression and creative delivery. If you are responsible for the creative construction and development of a music video, throw your hat in the ring!

You might just take home ‘Video of the Year’ for 2022 and join the production teams who created videos for The Kite String Tangle, Lastlings, WAAX, Eves Karydas and more.

The annual celebration pays homage to the Queensland music scenes best and brightest. Both emerging and established artists are acknowledged with the unity of diverse genres and categories.

Household names such as Amy Shark, Keith Urban, Sheppard and The Veronicas have previously taken out top spots at the awards.

Never fear! Emerging artists are not forgotten, with previous winners including QLD favourites Hope D, Sycco and Jaguar Jonze.

You can find a full list of past winners here!

Brisbane’s very own ‘walk of fame’ receives new additions yearly. Lining Brunswick Street in Fortitude Valley, QMA enshrines new bronze plaques for the song of the year recipients.

First established in 2006 as ‘QSong’, The Queensland Music Awards are the Sunshine States’ biggest celebration of the everchanging and diverse music scene.

With an extensive list of categories, the awards shine a light on artists, videos, festivals and venues.

In 2022 the celebration of the music industry could not be more needed. COVID-19 has not only affected artists but all industry workers and importantly, live music venues.

QMA is sure to change that, so give it a shot and get involved – what have you got to lose?
