Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood has released new material… but only as sheet music

Composer and guitarist of Radiohead, Jonny Greenwood has released the sheet music to a 2015 composition titled 88 (No.1) for the first time ever.

The sheet music has been released by Faber Music, who describe the piece as “a contemporary work for solo piano, suitable for advanced-level players, consisting of two movements, slow and fast.”

Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood has just released new material but it’s only available as bloody sheet music. Time to learn to read sheet music, I guess.

If you want to hear the new material, you’ll need to be an “advanced-level” player… and by Jonny Greenwood standards, we’re guessing that’s a bit above our pay grade.

Greenwood recently tweeted that the piece is “inspired by Glenn Gould and by the glorious mechanics of the thing.

The legendary guitarist has been pretty active lately, recently composing the film score to Paul Thomas Anderson’s most recent film Phantom Thread and debuting his new project with composer Shye Ben Tzur and the Indian ensemble Rajasthan Express, named Junun.
