Well, they weren’t going to let Xbox have all the glory, right? In a Financial Results Report just published by Sony, the company has revealed that they’re still on track to launch the PS5 in the holiday season of 2020.
With the recent and highly publicised outings of the Xbox Series X, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Sony had dropped the ball. This news must be reassuring for fans eagerly awaiting the next-gen offering from Sony.
Oh, it’s on. In a Financial Results Report, Sony has reassured stakeholders that the PS5 is still headed for the shelves in the holiday season of 2020.
Like pretty much every other company in the world, Sony has had to rethink its operations in the midst of the coronavirus crisis. But, as the report states, they’re still on target to go head-to-head with their arch-rivals from Microsoft in a next-gen battle later in the year:
“Regarding the launch of PlayStation®5, although factors such as employees working from home and restrictions on international travel have presented some challenges in regards to part of the testing process and the qualification of production lines, development is progressing with the launch of the console scheduled for the 2020 holiday season.”
Looks like fans will have a lot to look forward to in the coming months.
