OneFour, Sky Ferreira and Mos Def are just some of the artists who’ve joined RISING’s 2024 music program.
RISING Festival has today (March 12) unveiled the music program for its 2024 edition, with a stacked itinerary of music events and concerts by the likes of Sky Ferreira and OneFour.
RISING will take place in Melbourne/Naarm from June 1 to June 16, delivering over 100 events and spotlighting some 480 artists.
While the festival will include starry names, exhibitions and premieres in the worlds of art and film, RISING has today unveiled its music program, which features a few key highlights.
Among the already-hectic music itinerary is Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def), who will host two sets throughout the festival and perform his iconic album ‘The Ecstatic’.
For their part, Melbourne icons The Dirty Three also appear on the music program, gracing the stage with two shows at Hamer Hall.
DJ Moktar will helm a takeover of the lower Town Hall, while Essex musician Tirzah will perform her first-ever Melbourne show at The Forum.
The names just keep coming, with shoegaze legends Blonde Redhead, soul artist Snoh Aalegra, and Yves Tumor all due to perform shows across the city throughout RISING’s weeks-long run.
Perhaps the starriest names on RISING’s 2024 music program are OneFour and Sky Ferreira. The latter star will bring her blend of pop and heavy metal to The Forum, in what will be her first Australian performance since 2015.
Meanwhile, Sydney drill legends OneFour will make their Melbourne debut with a headline show at Festival Hall for RISING, adding a cherry on top of what is already an unmissable music event.
Aside from its roster of musicians, RISING’s music program also includes a variety of unique experiences, including the Day Tripper festival, overtakes an entire city block and promises a curated selection of music, art, and performance across genres.
Mos Def will also perform at Day Tripper, alongside acts like Bar Italia and disco legend Asha Puthli.
Elsewhere, the music program includes the ‘Communitas’, a large-scale choir performance in St Paul’s Cathedral, a day-long free music film festival called ‘The 24-Hour Rock Show’, and an inclusive club night hosted by Crip Rave Theory.
