SAIYON casts a deep spell with her debut single ‘Getting High’

Melbourne singer-songwriter, SAIYON has entered Australia’s ever-growing R&B scene with her debut single Getting High.

SAIYON invites listeners to dive in and fall deep into the world that she has created, using a catchy electronic sound like a playground for her incredible vocals.

Prepare yourself to be hypnotised by the irresistible soul sounds of SAIYON’s new single Getting High.

Drawing her sound from the alternative R&B scene and combining these inspirations with elements of future soul, SAIYON has delivered one of the most assured and confident debuts from any genre this year so far.

This is no surprise when you discover the A-team behind this track; backing vocals by Gary Pinto of CDB, flawless production from Grant Windsor, mixing by Brian Bender, and mastering by Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road Studios, who has worked with the likes of The Killers, Elton John and Coldplay.

Soulful and rhythmic melodies are meticulously paired with SAIYON’s silky smooth vocals. What strikes immediately after the first listen of this track is that SAIYON has not only set out to create music which sounds beautiful, but she wants to write music that exudes deep, powerful and intimate experiences.

Getting High explores the negligence in a relationship which once meant so much, encouraging a newfound sense of empowerment and independence. While the song conveys ideas that are raw and personal to SAIYON, she presents them as a commentary on the human condition, allowing a universal audience to relate and understand. In a discussion of her debut SAIYON stated:

“When people hear the track I hope they can feel or find a piece of their own story in the lyrics.”

In four swift minutes, SAIYON will cast a spell on your body, mind and soul, leaving you craving another spin of her sweet and melodic sound. Listen to Getting High below and be sure to keep up to date because, for SAIYON, we are sure the best is yet to come.
