When you have a quick once-over of APES’ Facebook page, you’ll find the usual things. Handsome profile pic, tour dates, press contacts, the works. Then there’s this:

Bloody oath. Turns out when a bunch of nice guys get together to launch their new single If You Want It in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, they’ll donate a portion of the show earnings towards saving abandoned pets.
If You Want It is a choral pop banger of the highest caliber, and to celebrate it’s launch APES are putting together a rather special series of shows.
APES are Ben on vocals and guitar, James doing the same, Sam slappin’ the bass and Rowan on the kit, and they’ve recently dropped their latest cut, If You Want It. A viciously catchy Summer tune, don’t pop in the earphones and listen to it unless you’re comfortable having it in your head for weeks.
They’ll be touring the single as well, starting tomorrow night at The John Curtin in Melbourne, where they’ll be joined by DIET. and Fountaineer. On the Brisbane leg they’ll have Soviet X-Ray Records Club, The Con & The Liar and FeelsClub making up a pretty epic team of supports, and in Sydney you can expect CREO and WASTERS to attend.
On top of this bulging list of talent, APES are donating $1 for every ticket sold to PetRescue Australia, a nonprofit aimed at bringing families everywhere the joys of owning a rescue pet.
