In an idea so crazy that only Nicolas Cage would go along with it, Vice recently interviewed the man himself, while including a Nicolas Cage quote in every one of their questions.
Given that Cage is in the middle of promo for the upcoming film Dog Eat Dog, also starring Willem Dafoe and Paul Schrader, Vice writer Mike Pearl thought this new twist on the interview format would be appreciated by Cage.
It’s hard to say how it turned out.
There’s some batshit crazy Nicolas Cage interviews out there, but this one could take the cake, with each question being comprised of the movie star’s quotes.
The interview contains a sleuth of quotes from Con Air, The Rock, The Wicker Man and the other Cage classics we’re all familiar with. Here’s a taste:
VICE: You enjoying this? (The Rock, 1996)
CAGE: Oh, I love Dog Eat Dog, it’s exactly the kind of movie I want to be making right now. It’s a midnight movie. It’s unpredictable. It’s full of surprises. It doesn’t stop moving. It’s electric. I’m very happy with the results.
