OFFtheGRID will be marked as Australia’s first solar-powered festival, and will be making its debut in Melbourne this December.
The first line-up for the event has been announced today, and includes the likes of Banoffee, Sui Zhen and Cut Copy DJ’s, with a second line-up to be revealed soon. All the acts will be performing on a solar-powered stage, with all the funds going towards local renewable energy initiatives. Melbourne artist Banoffee stated “The language of renewable energy has been lost in elitism to confuse and delay change. This festival is a step towards a different type of communication. We need to start leading by example and show people how tangible this change is.
OFFtheGrid will be taking place at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art on December 22, and tickets are now on sale.
