Spencer Spark brings 80s nostalgia to life with ‘Wake Up’ launch event

Spencer Spark took audiences on a journey back in time with the launch event for her latest single ‘Wake Up’, which featured an 80s-inspired aerobics class and classic hits, all infused with Sparks’ own original style.

Spencer Sparks’ launch event for her latest single “Wake Up” was a nostalgic trip down memory lane, complete with an 80s-inspired aerobics class that had attendees donning leg warmers and headbands. Featuring guest instructor Luke from Retrosweat, an 80s-inspired aerobics company, the event was a testament to the enduring influence of the decade on popular culture.

But what set Sparks’ performance apart was her ability to infuse her own original music with the iconic sounds and styles of the era. The 45-minute set featured a medley of classic 80s hits, by Eurythmics Sweet Dreams, and of course the Aussie classic, Lets Get Physical,  but it was Sparks’ original songs, particularly “Wake Up”, that truly shone as a beacon of innovation and creativity.

Sparks’ goal was to create something fresh and exciting for her fans, while also paying homage to the high-energy nostalgia of the “Wake Up” music video. And she delivered in spades, with a set that was both fun and deeply impressive in its musicality and showmanship.

Mad props go out to the display of impressive athleticism and dedication to the cause of partying, a number of punters at the recent event managed to complete the entire 45-minute aerobics workout with a cold beer in hand. Hats off to these daring individuals, who proved that when it comes to having a good time, anything is possible. And believe you me, Petersham Bowls never looked more glam!

Overall, the launch event for “Wake Up” was a dazzling celebration of 80s pop culture and Spencer Sparks’ own unique style and vision. With her latest single, Sparks proves that the 80s may be long gone, but their influence on popular music endures, and continues to inspire a new generation of musicians and fans alike. Listen here.
