The band/phenomenon that is Sticky Fingers uncontrollably burst themselves all over the entire nation’s new jeans a few years back, the result of the perfect storm of radio support, some hardcore band management and a shedload of catchy ass tunes. I remember a time not so long ago when talking about Sydney music necessarily meant addressing the situation that was the exploding emergence of a band known as Sti Fi.
Now a little older, a little wiser and a trading in their original rootsiness for something verging on the elusive holy grail that is the funk, the band have set off to showcase Gold Snafu, a tantalising taste from their upcoming sophomore record. If you haven’t already checked out their hilarious early 80’s inspired Australiana video clip for the aforementioned single, prepare yourself. Take a deep breath, and click here.
Joining them on their latest romp down under will be Bootleg Rascal, who straight up sound like Sticky Fingers when you first heard about them. Hip Hop beats, Aussie accents and clean shaven dub/jazz guitar riffs from a band that are a little hairier than they should be. Check out Psychotica for a taste of what to expect from the Gold Coast/Sydney four piece.
