Still wet from Mountain Sounds? Catch all our best and dampest pics from the sick festival

Rain, hail or shine, Mountain Sounds Festival always pulls through with the goods. Catch the best photos we snapped while trying pitifully to stay dry.

Over the weekend, Mount Penang Parklands became home to Mountain Sounds Festival, which once again knocked it out of the park. Admittedly, on Friday night before the festival kicked off, the torrential rain that so rudely visited Sydney looked as though it may put a stop to the festival going ahead, but queue Saturday morning and we were greeted with blue skies.

Unfortunately, because of the rain, a little extra maintenance had to be done, so the first two bands on the bill were unable to play, but huge acts like Dune Rats, Ngaiire, DMA’s and Bec Sandridge all played killer sets throughout the day.

By late afternoon, the rain made a reappearance and didn’t seem to dampen anyone’s spirits, until the weather decided to get so bad that the Sailor Jerry stage lost complete power. This meant we missed out on seeing the likes of The Ruminaters, These New South Wales and The Gooch Palms, which was a little disappointing but entirely out of anyone’s control.

Keeping the festival soaring while the rain eventually dies down, Hermitude and RÜFÜS closed out the night, delivering absolutely banger sets which had the entire field packed with a sea of festival goers.
