Street photographer recreates shots he took in his hometown almost 40 years later with the exact same people

Back in the late 70s and 80s, paramedic Chris Porsz spent countless hours walking around the city of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, in Britain documenting the streets and taking shots of the people around him, from punks and bums, to ice-cream vendors and lovers on train platforms.

Have a look at these recreations of shots a street photographer took in his hometown almost 40 years later – with the exact same people.

Now, almost 40 years down the track, Porsz has just completed a new project. It’s called Reunions, a book that complies his favourite shots, set astride exact replicas of the original photographs – with the very same people.

The project took seven years complete, and is a stunning observation of the passage of time – albeit a candid and unpretentious one. Check out some of the shots below.
