We haven’t heard from King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard for a month or two, and we were starting to get worried. But it appears the band were just prepping to drop the first taste of their upcoming 100th album. It’s called Rattlesnake and it’s fucking insane.
Surprise, surprise. King Gizzard just dropped an epic 7-minute track alongside insane video by their visual mastermind Jason Galea. It’s the first taste of a new record called Flying Microtonal Banana.
The band were typically succinct with releasing the track, sharing it on their Facebook page earlier this morning alongside a brief message:
“This is Rattlesnake
The first single taken from our new album Flying Microtonal Banana.
Created by Jason Galea”
No need for embellishment.
The track follows on from the band’s 8th record, Nonagon Infinity, released earlier this year.
Flying Microtonal Banana will be the band’s 9th record since 2012 and further confirmation that the band are, in fact, inhuman.
Check out the track below alongside a video by the wildly talented Jason Galea, who we featured in Happy Mag issue # 2.
Gizz also released a two hour doco covering the last two years they’ve spent touring and recording. Watch here.
