Swirl Record’s reign over Adelaide’s rock scene continues. Watch the roof spark up this Thursday as the label puts on another huge gig

For the last couple of Thursdays, the champions at Swirl Records have been putting up some wild gigs in Adelaide, and showcasing serious local and national talent to boot.

Show number three of Umbrella City Winter Sounds is next on the list this Thursday. The night returns to the Colonel Light Hotel. Same venue, different bands, same wild vibe.

Live in Adelaide and have a sweet-tooth for grimy rock gigs? Swirl Records has you covered this Thursday, without denting your wallet.

Adelaide is pushing out serious talent recently, and there’s no excuse to miss even a handful of it. Thanks to Swirl Records, the southern city is being spoiled with four party nights to show off it’s rock culture.

The first two nights being resounding successes, the folks at Swirl are sticking to their guns and following the tried and tested format – presenting three local bands before a national grade headliner.

The Empty Threats will be kicking off the locals, a group of tardy rockers who promise a ruckus. Chiara La Woo follow, a ramshackle three piece presenting psych-punk vibes. For your jam fix Druid Fluids have you covered with their colourful tripshow.

The Vanns are the lucky headliners – but it’s Thursday night’s audience who have really struck gold with this pick. These boys, headed by frontman Jimmy Vann, have played with the likes of Sticky Fingers and The Delta Riggs. The indie rockers are a proper threat, true Aussie up-and-comers.

A tenner will get you into the festivities. Get there from 8pm onwards. That’s all you need to know, but find any extra details here.
