Tame Impala to launch ‘Enhanced Album’ with The Slow Rush

Tame Impala have released some further info regarding their incredibly anticipated new album, The Slow Rush.

Due for release on Friday, February 14, The Slow Rush will be receiving the ‘Enhanced Album’ treatment: a feature created by Spotify that includes bonus content. Notably, Taylor Swift utilised this feature on her 2019 LP Lover.https://happymag.tv/tame-impala-to-l…th-the-slow-rush/

Tame Impala will release an ‘Enhanced Album’ experience on Spotify.  It will feature extra content and behind-the-scenes material from the making of new album, The Slow Rush.

Titled, The Slow Rush Time Warp, the release will include a neat package of unreleased audio and visual content. Kevin Parker appears in a brief and mysterious promotional video on Spotify’s Facebook page. The video gives us sneaky glimpses of Parker’s Fremantle recording studio and short clips of music.

It remains to be seen exactly what we will be treated to, but the package appears to offer behind-the-scenes material from the making of The Slow Rush. Nevertheless, the concept of Spotify’s ‘Enhanced Album’ offers an interesting demonstration of modern listening practices.

Since the release of the acclaimed 2015 LP, Currents, Tame Impala has grown into one of Australia’s finest musical exports. Their contemporary take on psychedelic-pop has received so much global recognition that it becomes easy to forget the project’s humble beginnings.

As a result, their upcoming Australian tour in April has been met with ravenous excitement. An extra show has been added to their Melbourne visit, while Kevin Parker has revealed plans to donate a portion of the tours’ proceeds to bushfire relief.

It’s sure to be a massive tour, given the context within which it is occurring. One of the world’s most revered bands touring their home country just months after the release of arguably the most anticipated album of the year. It doesn’t sound like there’s too much to complain about there.

The Slow Rush hits the shelves tomorrow (Friday) at 4pm. Read our review here.
