The Chats showed up on the Today Show… and it was pretty bloody awkward

Things got a bit weird when Aussie heroes The Chats were interviewed on Today. The band were interviewed by the infamous Karl Stefanovic and his co-host Allison Langdon… and things felt a little awkward, to say the least. It was almost painful to watch but ultimately pretty hilarious as well.

At least they laid down a pretty sweet performance of their song Pub Feed on the show.

Aussie band The Chats made an appearance on Today with Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon. Things got a little awkward and it was golden.

Most Australians know Karl Stefanovic and his antics when interviewing artists. Things can get a little weird sometimes (Harry Styles? 2012? Anyone remember?). His excitement towards The Chats and their questionable (but cool) song lyrics were met with awkward poses and an attempt to form a relationship with the band? Maybe? No one knows.

The Today hosts and The Chats clearly had a little trouble connecting. It was just a bit of a strange interview. Good on Karl for trying, I guess?

The Chats will be performing at this year’s Coachella and are currently touring with Laneway Festival. Their debut album High Risk Behaviour will be available on March 27th.

These boys are definitely going places, maybe not back to Today anytime soon though.
